Deserves A Deluxe: Do Ré Mi – Domestic Harmony [1985]

Standard

Do Re Mi

Do Ré Mi arrived on the Australian music scene with a freshness and individual streak that couldn’t be compared. Lyrical conversations sung by Deborah Conway lead the band from 2 independent EPs in 1982 to a label deal with Virgin Records. 1985’s ‘Domestic Harmony’ was released to critical acclaim and was released in Europe. Lead single from the debut album ‘Man Overboard’ broke the mould as to what to do to have a Top 5 hit single. Listen to it today and it still manages to grab your undivided attention.

Last year the album celebrated its 30 year Anniversary. Their old label Virgin / EMI didn’t plan anything to celebrate this. The album is out of print physically and not available digitally. The album had 2 CD pressings, first back in 1986 and the last in the early 1990s. Many fans of the band and of Deborah Conway are constantly asking for this album to be made available again. The original CD pressings can fetch anywhere between $40-$90 AUS on ebay and Discogs

I call for a remastered 2CD / DVD release, the band made stunning video clips, did many TV live performances and there’s the amount of B-Sides and the 2, 1982 EPs that haven’t been digitally released. The expanded original artwork would sit beautifully with a nice digipak
